Week #23 – The Word is FEAR… FEAR… FEAR

I have always been fascinated with the idea that words carry a certain vibration, an energy of their own. My fascination is fueled by the idea that two words having similar meanings can feel vastly different energetically. I wanted to know how particular words landed on other people. Do they feel a word’s individual character like I do? Do other people notice how the words we use, in large part, create the experience we are having? I decided to write random words, 103 to be exact, on pieces of paper. I folded them into little squares and tossed them into a bowl. Each week I will draw a new word and post how this word feels to me, energetically. These words are the basis for my interactive post(s), “Word Vibration of the Week.” I invite you to join me each week and share how each WVOW lands on you.

Week #23 – FEAR

For me there are really only two emotions when you get down to it LOVE and FEAR.

Here’s how it shows up:

FEAR = Can I create? + Can I trust that I can create?

FEAR = Do I deserve to succeed? + Do I believe I am worthy of success?

FEAR = Am I capable of believing in myself? + Am I the kind of person who gets what they want?

FEAR = The absence of Me to Me!!!

What does FEAR offer me if I look it straight in the eye? If I dare to move forward fearlessly…

I am creating + I am successful + I am present + I am Me = LOVE.

Week 21 – NURTURE

I love the way this word vibrates with a sense of life and opportunity.  It feels warm and loving.  It also speaks of determination and focus.  Any new beginning, whether planting a seed in the ground, an idea into action, or doing something that makes me feel better about myself requires NURTURING.  The act of constant attention and patient tending to the care and well being of something treasured.

To NURTURE requires I keep my eye the long term goal and to continue to keep that vision so I have the ability to move forward when the road gets rocky.

Week 20 – AVOID

This picture of a guy with his head in the sand says everything I feel about the word AVOID.  It’s hard to breathe let alone see how he can get out of whatever he is trying to AVOID from this position. I have never  been one to AVOID something.  The very idea that something is hanging over my head makes me anxious.  You know that icky feeling of having one’s ass in the wind and a big old storm is on it way.

Personally, I prefer to look a situation straight in the eye and confront it.  It may not be a pleasant situation but I’d much rather get it over with than AVOID it.  Whatever I AVOID will inevitably come back to haunt me.  Not a pleasant thought for me so I tend to AVOID avoiding.

Week 19 – VALUE

I have thought a lot about VALUE this week.  This word references so many different things; the VALUE of material possessions, the VALUE of people or maybe the VALUE of one’s reputation.  It’s a subjective word, defined best through the lens of one’s own wants and desires.  In some respects VALUE is a measuring stick.

Personally, I don’t VALUE very many material things or possessions.  I find little to no VALUE in the news or in politics.  I don’t look for my VALUE through the opinions of others. Where I find VALUE is in the things that touch my heart and my soul; being able to sit on my patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean and hearing her roar in the middle of the night when the world sleeps, seeing my sweet boy Lucky wake up each morning excited for a new day as he runs to play with his toys but most of all…  at this time in my life, on this day, in this moment, the thing I VALUE most is LIFE and the opportunity to LIVE.

Week 18 – LIVE

When I pulled last week’s word, Abandon, it resonated in two ways for me, one was to LIVE with abandon, the other was to feel abandon(ed) by someone or something else.  There is a third vibration to the word abandon that I want to address before I talk about this week’s word LIVE, and that energy is asking me not abandon myself.  I intrinsically know that to truly LIVE I get to believe in myself, trust my choices and in my ability to create all the resources I need. Being a human being my resolve will ebb and flow. It’s only natural.  For me, it is a strong connection to SPIRIT that lights the way during those moments of doubt and discouragement. When I am scared and afraid to LIVE, I turn to my higher power through meditation and prayer for guidance and comfort.  In this crazy, mixed up world too many of us are trying to meet the next deadline, pay the next bill and just get through the day. We have forgotten to LIVE.

This week’s word, LIVE, is an invitation.  It is a gift.  It is a privilege.

Week 17 – ABANDON

When I pulled this word my first reaction was “What a cool word.”  It triggered an image of Gene Kelly, joyously singing in the rain, twirling his umbrella and jumping on lamp posts.   Its a fun, exciting invitation to venture into any situation with complete lack of inhibition or restraint.

 

It took me two or three days to realize this is one of those double sided words.  As a noun its energy is bright and vital yet as a verb it takes on a dark, lonely energy.  To cease to support or look after [someone]; to desert [something].  This is a word often used when someone has lost trust and faith in others as a result of being ABANDON.  So much sad energy attached to its verb form that I can’t help but feel immensely grateful for my first reaction.

I have traveled the road of life long enough to have developed a strong sense of who I am and where I am going.  I have left the dark energy of ABANDON and am embracing the brilliance of living my life with ABANDON.

Week 16 – PROBLEMS

I laughed, literally, when I pulled this word out of the bowl.  Not a nervous little laugh but a big muahaahaaa laugh. As if I was daring the word, in some way, laugh. The last few weeks have been a roller coaster of INSECURITY coupled with WISDOM.  And now PROBLEMS rears it’s little head.

Bring it on!  Don’t get me wrong. I do not enjoy PROBLEMS. What I do enjoy is the secret inherent in the word PROBLEMS.  On the flip side of the PROBLEMS coin lay opportunity. When PROBLEMS arise they offer “opportunities” to exercise resourcefulness, ingenuity and to feel empowerment.  All these thoughts ran through my head at light speed. Because, honestly, I did not want to think my week was going to be riddled with PROBLEMS.  Instead of fearing the word, I made a conscious declaration to Spirit that this week would be awesome, full of fun opportunities for new experiences.   PROBLEMS, I say thank you to you for reminding me what I am made of!

So crazy as it sounds I have been excited all week. About what… I don’t know?  I have just been excited.  I spent the week spring cleaning, clearing closets, tackling those pesky projects on the “to do” list,  preparing for whatever opportunities are coming my way.

Honoring Your Soul’s Purpose

I was sitting on my balcony quietly looking out over the Pacific Ocean.  My gaze mesmerized by the rhythm of the water’s flow.  Like a baby being rocked back and forth I could feel myself drifting off into that place where dreams are made.  That’s when I saw it – out of the corner of my eye.  The spray from the blow hole.  It’s that time of year I thought, the Grey Whale is migrating down the California coast line.

Excitement pulsated all the way into my toes — was I about to experience something few are privileged enough to see?  That’s when the curl of her humpback broke the surface before plunging deep into the dark blue water below.  I held my breath.  She was so close to shore apparently coming to feed in the popular diving cove where I live.

Suddenly, like a rocket she came bounding out of the ocean.  I could see her tiny little eye shimmer in the sunlight – BAM – she crashed back onto the water ~ belly exposed like a scene out of National Geographic.  Adrenaline coursing through my veins I looked around to see who else had witnessed such a miracle of nature.  A nearby boat had been following her, did they see it?  BAM – she barreled through the surface AGAIN.  As if saying “in case you didn’t get the message the first time!”

Not once but twice she breached the ocean surface. Talk about a rarity – something so special it defies even the grandest of words.  Sayings like “a gift from God” and “it’s a miracle” seem small and insignificant.

Once my heart stopped racing I looked up the meaning of ‘whale’ in my power animal guide book. According to this book whale represents “Honoring Your Soul’s Purpose.” The timing of my whale sighting could not have been more perfect. I have been feeling an increasing call to Service.  As Ghandi said “Be the Change You Wish To See In The World.” Being an intuitive, a seer, a psychic I have been acutely aware of the Earth’s vibration and the need to shake off the lower energies we have allowed to fester.  I am here, at this time and in this place, to facilitate the higher vibrations.

Now, whenever I look out the window overlooking Grandmother Ocean I’m reminded of that whale and her special message to honor my connection to Spirit, to embrace these changing times and my Soul’s Purpose in them.
