Happy the Sunday before the ball drops onto 2016,

It’s Week #94 of 103 – RESISTANCE

Thank you for joining me and welcome back to my blog. The official site of Word Vibration of the Week (WVOW). My intention for this blog is to create a community where we can share our thoughts and ideas about how words resonant with our energy. I look forward to your comments and our discussions. For those of you familiar with these posts, please feel free to jump to the next paragraph. For those of you new to my posts here is a brief description of Word Vibration of the Week.

I have always been fascinated with the idea that words carry a certain vibration, an energy of their own. My fascination is fueled by the idea that two words having similar meanings can feel vastly different energetically. I wanted to know how particular words landed on other people. Do they feel a word’s individual character like I do? Do other people notice how the words we use, in large part, create the experience we are having? I decided to write random words, 103 to be exact, on pieces of paper. I folded them into little squares and tossed them into a bowl. Each week I will draw a new word and post how this word feels to me, energetically. These words are the basis for my interactive post(s), “Word Vibration of the Week.” I invite you to join me each week and share how each WVOW lands on you.

Week #94 – RESISTANCE Screen Shot 2015-12-27 at 6.14.46 PM

I gotta say this week’s word has me spinning in a bunch of different directions. There is a part of me that says RESISTANCE sucks… it’s fear based. It plays to the Ego’s unwillingness to get out of its own way. Then there’s the “positive” aspect – RESISTANCE builds muscle, it builds core strength… Both options feel flat and redundant to me.

So I’m pondering RESISTANCE and I keep seeing rubber bands. What the heck do rubber bands have to do with RESISTANCE?

My experience of rubber bands is that no matter what I will inevitably get stung. Metaphorically either I will lose focus that I am RESISTING (to maintain balance) or I will get tired and surrender (because I can’t take the tension anymore).

Frankly at this point it’s late and I just feel the challenging aspects of RESISTANCE so I decide to look the word up in the dictionary; here’s what it said:

re·sist·ance
rəˈzistəns/
noun
1.
the refusal to accept or comply with something; the attempt to
prevent something by action or argument.
“she put up no resistance to being led away”
2. the ability not to be affected by something, especially adversely.
“some of us have a lower resistance to cold than others”

Ok, the definition examples just made my RESISTANCE worse.  When I read the examples I thought how weird is that? They use the “opposite” scenario to express the word’s meaning??!!

I am officially surrendering to RESISTANCE’s vibration.

Remember… Words are an extension of your thoughts, which are an extension of your beliefs… Believe the best about yourself and exercise RESISTANCE to anything less.

Happy New Year, may it be filled with love and laughter.

In light and with love,
